Privacy

This site has no accounts and no comment section, and nothing on it collects details from a student in order to pass them to a school. It has two forms, and only what you type into one of them is collected.

What is collected

The newsletter. If you sign up for the weekly nurse-pay email, your email address is sent to Brevo, the email service that holds the list and sends the email. Brevo asks you to confirm the subscription before anything is sent, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Only the address is collected.

Advertising enquiries. The form on the advertise page is for schools and companies. What you enter there (organisation, name, email, website and message) is sent by email through SendGrid to the people who run this site. It is not stored in a database.

Forms on this site use Jid Signals, which reads your approximate location and network type from your connection to help prevent fraud; your IP address is not stored. When you submit a form, we check the business details you give (such as your e-mail address, company name, phone number, location and message) with Jid (jid.com), our fraud-prevention provider, to confirm the enquiry comes from a real business. Jid does not keep your e-mail address, phone number or message; it keeps the result, your e-mail domain, a keyed one-way hash of your e-mail address and a one-way hash of the message for 30 days. After we review an enquiry we may mark it with Jid as legitimate, a sales pitch, spam or a scam. Jid keeps that report for up to 24 months with the company and e-mail domain concerned and the keyed hash of your e-mail address (never the address itself). Jid publishes only counts about businesses, once at least two independent businesses agree, never anything about an individual (jid.com/privacy, section 2b).

Beyond that, the site is served from a content delivery network, whose servers keep ordinary request logs (IP address, time, page, browser) for security and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.

The calculators run entirely in your browser. What you enter is never sent anywhere and is gone when you close the tab.

Cookies

This site runs Google Analytics 4, which sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_* and sends page-view data to Google, acting as a processor, so we can see which pages are read and how people arrive. Google Signals, advertising features and remarketing audiences are not enabled.

There are no advertising cookies, no ad network and no retargeting pixels. Blocking Google Analytics in your browser blocks it here, and every page, calculator and table works normally without it. Nothing you type into a calculator is sent to Google or anywhere else.

Links out

Following a link to Amazon, a state board or the Bureau of Labor Statistics takes you to somebody else’s site, under their privacy policy. Amazon links carry an affiliate identifier so that a purchase can be credited to this site; Amazon, not this site, sees what you browse and buy.

Product images are served from Amazon’s own image servers, which means Amazon can see that your browser loaded them.

This site is intended for adults considering or working in a nursing career.
